COVID-19 Fundraiser

COVID-19 Fundraising relief

let's come together and support

our venues and tango organizers and teachers

With the rest of the world, Portland has closed milongas, practicas, and tango classes to help slow down the COVID-19 pandemic.  We miss them!

There is so much uncertainty and we don’t know how long it will be before we have the ability to dance with each other again.

We have heard so many members of our wonderful community ask: What can I do to help?

The Portland Tango Association is facilitating a fundraising effort in order to preserve the community that we love so much.

There are 2 ways you can help:

  • You can donate directly to some of our special venues that are in need of assistance.
  • You can also make a donation to the general fund for Portland Tango.  These funds will be used to help the community get back on its feet after this crisis. Possible examples of how these funds could be used are: assistance to venues, events, and scholarships

The next all vinyl Milonga el Zorzal takes flight Friday January 17th at the beautiful Polish Hall in Portland Oregon. Zorzal is the longest running all vinyl milonga in the US! Join us for this special evening you won’t soon forget.

Friday 8:00pm-12:30am.

DJ Robert Hauk spins 4+ hours of all vinyl traditional tango. Guaranteed to keep you on the floor and smiling.
The 100 year old hardwood floor at the Polish, with it’s lovely acoustics, provide the perfect venue to experience my collection of over 300 vinyl records. Each carefully selected to provide high calibre, danceable music, brought to you in the warm sounds of vinyl. This sound quality would not be possible without the big Frequencia sound system by Ward Stevens. A nice spread of food will be available on the dance floor free of charge.

Bring your favourite partner and enjoy the longest running all vinyl tango event in the US.
$20 at the door.

Semi formal attire recommended.
Let’s make a night of it!
